How to Fix Laptop Battery Not Charging?

Most laptop batteries typically last up to four hours on a single charge, but after a few years, they can start to fail. Don't worry, there are some simple solutions if your laptop is no longer charging.

一、Why is my laptop battery not charging?

Besides an aging battery, there are two common reasons why your laptop might no longer be charging:

1.Poor connection of charging cable

This problem is frequently encountered by BatteryMall experts, and it can cause problems with your laptop battery in several ways:

Your charging cable may be loose, unplugged, or damaged.

Your charging cable may have a weak connection because it wasn't made by the laptop's manufacturer.

Your charging port may be clogged with dirt or debris, preventing it from starting properly.

The charging adapter does not provide enough power to charge.

2.The laptop is overheating or overworked

Your laptop battery generates and dissipates heat, but it may get too hot and no longer work or charge properly. Even newer laptops can sometimes overheat, but it's more common for older laptops with aging batteries and weak cooling systems.

3.Notebook power management motherboard is broken.

The motherboard is the key component of the entire computer and plays a vital role in the computer. If the motherboard fails, it will affect the work of the entire PC system.

二、Steps to fix a laptop battery that won't charge

Regardless of the make or model of your device, there are several ways to boost your battery. Here's what our BatteryMall experts recommend:

        1.Turn off your laptop

Turn off the device and wait 30 minutes before turning it back on. Then connect the charging cable and see if your laptop has some juice. This can also help your device cool down if it overheats.

2.Check the charging port, cable and socket

Check your laptop's charging port for dust or debris. Need to clean them? You can use a cotton swab lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol or compressed air. Make sure to allow the port to dry completely before reinserting the cable.

If your charging port is loose or damaged, do not attempt to repair it yourself. Instead, take your laptop to the nearest repair shop for a quick repair. Check your cables and make sure they are plugged in correctly. Avoid using unofficial charging cables.

Test the wall outlet or surge protector and make sure it's working properly. If not, try plugging your laptop into another laptop and see if that fixes the problem.

             3.Remove the battery

Remove your laptop battery (if it's removable) and put it back in place. Try turning on the laptop, if it doesn't boot, remove the battery again and hold the power button for 10 seconds to drain any remaining power in the laptop. Then, plug in the charging cable and see if your device charges and turns on.
